Yellow earthenware tankard glazed chestnut brown, ovoid in shape. The main 'belly' of the piece is divided by shallow slices, pumpkin style. The earthenware handle stretches from the top to a little over half way down on one side of the tankard. A strip of pewter runs down the handle to a rim on the base and up to a hinge connecting to the pewter lid with a finial. Pewter lid is decorated with vertical relief striping in two tiers and on top is a large central 8 pointed star and tiny flowers in the center of the star is incised, " A R F 1774" Base impressed with whirls.
