Description Yellow earthenware tankard glazed chestnut brown, ovoid in shape. The main 'belly' of the piece is divided by shallow slices, pumpkin style. The earthenware handle stretches from the top to a little over half way down on one side of the tankard. A strip of pewter runs down the handle to a rim on the base and up to a hinge connecting to the pewter lid with a finial. Pewter lid is decorated with vertical relief striping in two tiers and on top is a large central 8 pointed star and tiny flowers in the center of the star is incised, " A R F 1774" Base impressed with whirls.
