Description |
A handmade double pocketbook with stylized carnation flame stitch wool embroidery. Structured out of card, a linen grid, with brightly colored red, pink and hues of green wool embroidery, it has been handstitched onto the base. All edges are trimmed in light green silk but some is missing. When the wallet is open, the name and date is visible. The inscription "CASPER 1774" [Caspar] is cross-stitched in red silk on one side, and "IAECKEL 1774" [Yeakel] is cross-stitched in red silk on the other side. Each pocket is a bifold and the interior of the wallet is lined in green silk. |
