Description |
HAND TOWEL : white cotton muslin with fringe at the bottom, rectangular shape. The top corners feature an embroidered sun/flower motif in white cotton. The two bottom corners have an angled heart with the point facing the corner and three flowers and two leaves extending from top of heart. In the middle is a heart filled in with a stem extending up from top of heart with two leaves and two flowers-one on either side of stem. The stem continues and ends at the top with a large tulip like flower. Along the bottom there is a straight and twist stitched name in brown silk which reads "Agnes Yeakel" in a calligraphy style, separated by the year "1843". The fringe is attached with a 5/8" wide lace design with hand tied 3.50" long white cotton mill made fringe. The top edge has a 3/8" wide foldover hem, the right edge has a 1/8" wide foldover hem while the left edge has been left unfinished. |
