Description |
A man's top hat made out of black beaver fur with a black and gold satin ribbon attached around the base of the crown. The 2.50" wide brim is trimmed with a thinner black grosgrain ribbon but much of the ribbon has worn away. Attached to the inside bottom of the crown is a brown leather hatband. The sides and base of the crown are lined in a red and gold paper card and at the top base of the crown is the maker's mark stamped in gold lettering, which reads: "CHARLES RUTH, SKIPPACKVILLE, Montgomery County, Pa." |
