Description |
A lwomen's cage crinoline comprised of straps of thick natural linen twill tapes attached to twenty-five thread covered wire rings. The straps are attached to one another using metal studs. There is no closure at the waist, probably once had a hook and eye closure, but there is a remnant of a maker's stamp on the inside of the waistband. This crinoline is bell shaped with a slight bustle structure at the back. This crinoline was probably from the late 1860s as the large bell shape silhouette was stating to transition into the bustle style. |
