Description |
Perkiomen Valley quilt comprised of a 10 x 10 block formation of nine patch pieced blocks. Each block averages 6.75" x 6.75" made of nine individual squares averaging 2.25" x 2.50" of various plain and printed cottons. Arrangement of colors and prints which creates the alternating light and dark design is determined by the overall desired effect of the Perkiomen Valley layout. The surrounding border is 2.50" wide and made of red cotton with a white, green and blue circular print and a 1.00" wide foldover binding from back to front and reinforced with white machine stitching. The rest of the quilt is handstitched with blue thread and a SPI of 5-7. The back is comprised of a printed cheater cotton, made of a grey ground with red motifs, such as hearts, tulips, rings and other flower designs. |
