Description |
A man's three piece wedding suit. All three pieces are handstitched a) The tail coat is comprised of a brushed silk blend called barathea. The coat has a notched lapel and a double breasted closure with four intact covered.buttons. There is an additional single button closure at the waist. The waistline is cut short in the front, with the long single vented tails extending down. There is a single button at the back center where the slit begins. The long sleeves are set into the arm syce. There are two covered buttons at each cuff. The chest section is lined in a black silk/cotton blend with hand quilting and at the proper left interior waist there is a single slit pocket. The sleeves are lined in a glazed light brown cotton. Possibly burlap or a coarse canvas is used to line the back of the collar and lapels, which gives them structure. b) The trousers are made out of the same barathea. There is a five button fly (missing one button) and an additional six buttons are attached to the outside of the waistband. There are two angled pockets at the front with a covered button near the waistline. There is also fob pocket at the proper right waist. At the back waistband there is a "V" cut out with a self-fabric strap and metal clasp closure. A brown cotton is used as binding on all of the seams. The upper half of the trousers are lined in a glazed tan cotton. A natural plain weave linen is used to line the trousers from the knee to the hem. c) The waistcoat is comprised of black silk satin with a shawl collar. There is a double breasted closure with eight self-fabric covered buttons. At the proper left chest there is a straight pocket and two additional pockets at the waistline, which are all lined in a glazed dark brown cotton. The back is made of the same glazed dark brown cotton and at the lower back there is a self-fabric belt with a metal clasp closure. The vest is lined in a glazed light brown cotton and dark brown glazed cotton is used to line the lapels. |
