Description |
A doll's handstitched three piece ensemble. a) The dress is made out of a peach wool flannel. The dress mirrors the style of the 1850s with a stand up collar and wide skirt. There is a cream rick rack trim attached at the neckline and a yellow silk covered button at the center. The dress has sloped shoulders and the long sleeves are trimmed with yellow silk ribbon. On the skirt there are two yellow silk covered buttons that meet a curved trim of the yellow silk, that encircle the entire skirt. At the back of the dress there are three white shell buttons. b) The matching peach wool flannel jacket is cut to be left open. The cuffs of the sleeves and the hem of the opening and bottom of the jacket are all trimmed with the yellow silk. There is also a yellow silk bow attached near the neck. At the back of the jacket there is a belt made of the yellow silk and tied in a bow. c) A crinoline comprised of circles of metal wires wrapped in cream cotton thread. There is a also a cream cotton twill waistband. |
