Description |
Handmade pocketbook of queen stitch silk embroidery. Structured out of card with a natural linen grid handstitched on to it, the pocket features a dark green silk ground and red, pink, yellow, brown, blue, tan and green silk thread. The central design is a diamond grid with floral, strawberries and cross motifs located inside each of the diamonds. All the edges are trimmed in dark green silk but most is missing. When the wallet is open the initials "S.Y." are revealed underneath the flap. The initials are embroidered in queen stitch in red silk block lettering. Attached to the point of the triangular flap is a handwrought silver clasp with a Prince of Wales feather style motif. The inside is a bifold and entirely lined in dark green silk. |
