Description |
A ladies bodice comprised of black silk faille. There is a high stand up self-fabric collar with black pleated silk chiffon attached to the inside of the collar. The collar also has a hook and eye closure at the back. There is a ruffled center panel with sixteen intact covered decorative buttons, framed by a black silk cord application. The bodice has puckering caused by the darted seams. There is a slight puffing at the shoulder but the sleeves are long and straight and set into the arm syce. The cuff is trimmed with the same black silk cord trimming. The waistline is slightly pointed in the front and also features an application of the silk cord decoration. There is also a hook and eye closure on the inside waist, and a second closure on the outside back of the waist indicating a matching skirt was probably worn with this bodice. The bodice is lined in a light blue cotton with a blue print and metal boning inserted into the seams. The sleeves are lined in black glazed cotton. The bodice is machine constructed with hand finishing details. |
