Description |
A ladies triangular kerchief made out of a handspun blue and bleached woven checked linen. Along the edges there is a woven linear and plaid border comprised of the checked linen contrasted with blue linen and red cotton. This object is a double kerchief, meaning that it was cut from a square of cloth, then folded in half and cut again. As a result the side edges have a 1/8" wide foldover handstitched hem while the longer side is left unfinished. |

Tri-colored homespun of bleached linen singles, indigo blue linen singles, and two ply red cotton. It is a plain weave balanced check of 2 blue and 4 white with a 5" striped border on each side. It has 1/8" hems on the weft (30") and bias (45.5") edges and the third edge is the selvage (31"). |
